So summer is practically here and we don’t think there’s anything better than a cold drink to refresh you on a hot day! We were recently contacted by EatCleanTea about creating a healthy summer drinks recipe using a sample of their matcha tea and since we’re always up for trying something new we thought we’d try it out. We decided to use raspberries, lime and matcha mint green tea to create a tangy, refreshing summer drink which will be great for when you need something healthy and easy to make to cool you down.
2 Scoops of matcha & mint green tea
Juice of half a small lime
1 cup of ice
1 cup of raspberries
A few mint leaves
A cup of water
To create this summer drink, all you have to do is simply blend the ingredients together! We chose to add some water to thin it out a bit since we aren’t too keen on a thick drink with a smoothie texture.
While the colour doesn’t really do much for it, the drink itself has a unique taste that is sour but sweet all at once! The raspberries and lime go so well together to give the minty tea a tangy kick. We have to admit, we aren’t the type of people who avoid fizzy drinks and unhealthy foods, so we were surprised that we actually didn’t mind the taste of this healthy drink. It felt great to be able to drink something so refreshing and know that it’s full of good stuff, which is exactly what EatCleanTea are trying to promote with their #SummerofMatcha competition!
It would be great to be able to ditch the fizzy drinks and swap them for something a lot more beneficial yet energising this summer! EatCleanTea say the matcha and mint green tea powder is perfect for cleansing your skin, increasing your energy and boosting your metabolism, which is something we all need after a long few months of over indulging over the chillier months!
If you happen to give our recipe a go we’d love to know how it went and what you thought of it! We’d also love to know what your favourite things to drink over summer are! If you have any recipes for us we’d love to try them!
