Summer Adventures | Picnic In The Park

We know that for many people (us included!) Summer started ages ago, but as our cousin has now broken up from school we’ll be able to do loads of cool stuff. Therefore, we decided that over the next 6 weeks we’ll be doing a collection of ‘Summer Adventures’ for us to look back on. For those of you who don’t already know, our cousin is the brother that we never had! So over the next few weeks you’re likely to see him popping up in quite a few posts!

So today we decided to head off to one of our local nature reserves, which is a popular picnic destination around here! As well as Connor, our Mum, Aunt and Rachel’s boyfriend Joe came with us! Unfortunately Lauren’s boyfriend Kyle was at work so he missed out on the fun! The weather wasn’t that amazing, but when you have great food and company does it really matter?! We ate so much food we felt like we were about to burst! Chocolate brownies are always on the menu when we’re with Connor, they’re one of our favourite sweet treats so lots of those were consumed!

After eating and taking far too many selfies, we decided to go on a walk around the lake and see if we could spot any pretty flowers! Rachel forgot to bring her camera so we tried our best to take some on Lauren’s phone, here’s the outcome!

After walking around the woods, we headed back to the car and our Mum decided we’d go on a spontaneous trip to the garden centre. Yeah, you’re probably right in thinking it doesn’t sound too exciting but with Connor around we can make anything enjoyable!

As we were walking around we came across a selection of fake fruit. To most people, this wouldn’t seem exciting, but it reminds us of some stuff our Grandma has in her house. So us being big kids we decided to have a mess about, this kept us occupied for a little while!

Also we couldn’t resist popping these bargains in today’s post! When we went into our local Tesco to get our picnic food, they were in the reduced section. They were each priced at under £2 and let’s face it for a lip balm that’s super cheap. We’ve used Baby Lips before and have always liked them so we knew we had to have these!

Have you got anything planned over Summer?! Even if you’re planning on just going for a few picnics, there’s nothing better than a cheap day out! We’re hoping to go for some more over the next few weeks too! Thanks for reading!

  3. Looks like you had so much fun! I have a baby lips that smells of mint and I personally did not find it that good, very watery! But I use it on my lips after LUSH’s lip scrub and it is okay! xx

I’ve never tried the lip balm though. It’s just not available here I guess.
I also like those simple summer adventures like picnics 😀 Where I live people tend to go to rivers and make a small BBQ with a campfire there 😀
