GBBO Inspired Chocolate Viennese Whirls

Chocolate Viennese Whirls 1.jpg

Hands up if you’ve been glued to your sofa watching the Bake Off every Wednesday?! We’ve always loved baking and watching The Great British Bake Off so we were so happy when it returned to our Televisions two weeks ago. We love featuring recipes on our blog and GBBO is the perfect way to get inspiration for new bakes! If you watched last weeks show, you will know that it was Biscuit Week and the bakers had to make Viennese Whirls for the technical challenge. We decided to use this as inspiration for our next bake, but change it up a little bit. So here we present to you something simple but a bit different, our chocolate Viennese whirls!

A Trip to Menchies Frozen Yoghurt Shop at Intu Lakeside!

We all love a sweet treat and now that we’re in Summer, what’s better than a pot of frozen yoghurt to cool you down? Recently a new frozen yoghurt shop opened up in Intu Lakeside’s food court, Menchies! The company  originates from the USA and was founded in 2007. As it stands this is currently the first Menchies in Europe. We’d seen a lot of excitement about the store opening and couldn’t wait to take a trip there! So as you can imagine, when we were invited to go down to the store to try it for ourselves, we were ecstatic!

Stampede Intu Lakeside* | Review

Now if there’s one thing we love it’s got to be good food! So when we were asked if we’d like to go to Stampede at Intu Lakeside for a complimentary meal in return for a review, we couldn’t say no! For those of you who don’t know Stampede is a restaurant that has opened up fairly recently in the food court of Intu Lakeside. Their menu consists of burgers, ribs and wings and their food is packed full of flavour. Before we start, we’d just like to say that although we did not pay for our meal all opinions are honest and our own. Also, if you’re from Essex and would like to win a £20 voucher to use at Stampede details can be found in this post!!

Raspberry, Lime & Mint Green Tea Blend | Summer of Matcha

So summer is practically here and we don’t think there’s anything better than a cold drink to refresh you on a hot day! We were recently contacted by EatCleanTea about creating a healthy summer drinks recipe using a sample of their matcha tea and since we’re always up for trying something new we thought we’d try it out. We decided to use raspberries, lime and matcha mint green tea to create a tangy, refreshing summer drink which will be great for when you need something healthy and easy to make to cool you down.

Easter Nest Surprise Cakes!

So Easter is just around the corner (well it’s technically tomorrow right?!) and it’s become a bit of a tradition for us to bake something to celebrate. Last year we played it safe and posted about some super simple chocolate nest cakes that we made. This year we decided to step it up just a little bit and bake something even better. Now it’s obvious we aren’t pro bakers, so if for you baking is just a bit of fun, why not try these this Easter?

Lemon Meringue Cupcakes | Recipe

Lemon meringue pie and cupcakes are two of the best foods you can eat, so what happens when you put them together? Whenever I (Rachel) have a day off work I find myself flicking through numerous recipe books, hoping to find something unique and tasty to make. I really fancied something lemon-y the other week, but baking lemon meringue pie is just too time consuming and who can be bothered to wait around for food that will only take seconds to eat? I had the best idea when I thought of making lemon meringue in the form of quick and easy cupcakes and I managed to find a recipe for just that!

A New Years Boost! | t+ Drinks*

Before Christmas, Jade from T Plus contacted us about reviewing some of their green teas. They kindly allowed us to choose 2 boxes of tea which were gifted to us. As it’s a new year and we need a little extra boost, we chose the Boost and Detox teas. Since they contain herbs and fruits, we were interested to see if they tasted any different to the normal types of green teas we drink. We’d just like to say that although we were gifted these teas, our opinions are our own and we will be honest with our review.
