Reacting to our Old Fashion Posts

February this year marked our third year of blogging. 2015 was also the year that we dived into the world of fashion when we uploaded our first ever fashion post, just weeks after starting what was meant to be a strictly a beauty and lifestyle blog! Three years ago neither of us thought of ourselves as “fashionable” (we still don’t very much now!), we just wore whatever we wanted and blogged about it and it’s safe to say we’ve had some very questionable looks on our blog. It’s only recently that we’ve started to follow fashion trends more often and take it seriously and it’s crazy to look back at our old blog photos and see how much has changed!

Red Alert | Our New Favourite Colour?

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

We were hoping that 2018 would be a great year for our blog. We decided that we wanted to go more down the fashion route as it allows us to get out the house and explore, which makes blogging so much more enjoyable, but so far the weather has been a complete let down. It means that we haven’t had much content for our little blog. It’s been rainy and cold and there’s no way you’ll see us posing for blog pictures in that! Luckily for us, the weather was on our side the other day (kinda) so we managed to go out and shoot some photos without being rained on, at last! We’re always talking about how much we love wearing dark colours but recently we’ve got a new found love for one colour in particular… red! We’re starting to add little hints of colour to our outfits and red is by far our new favourite colour to do this with.

Feeling BOLD | Styling the Smock Dress

feeling bold.jpg

February has been such a weird month so far. It’s rained, it’s snowed and the sun has even shined; it’s been so awkward when it comes to deciding on outfits! About a week or so ago, we both decided we needed to freshen up our wardrobes and add a bit of colour to them and after searching on Asos for hours (we were probably both procrastinating from something important as per), we both found these smock dresses and weirdly fell in love. Neither of them are something we’d both normally go for but we really felt that we needed to brighten up our wardrobes and also be brave and try something new fashion-wise. It’s always scary going out in something that takes you a little bit out of your comfort zone and we usually wear black as we feel it keeps us hidden from any attention. But today we’re taking a stand and showing you how we injected a dash of colour into what was a dreary and dull day!

Summer Dreaming…

summer dreaming oots

We got a bit overly excited on the morning of the day we took these photos. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and all we could think was “YES, spring is coming!”. Boy, were we wrong though. The minute we got into Joe’s car the sky turned grey and it started raining, but us being the crazy girls we are who are desperate for blog photos decided to just go ahead with it, despite the change of weather! REGRETS. It was freezing, so cold that we didn’t manage to get many photos done, but regardless we still had so much fun exploring a new place with the boys and admiring all the pretty beach houses that we wish we could own. We even braved the beach (yes we went on the beach in January, madness!) and it got us thinking about just how much we can’t wait for the warmer weather to be here. We really do love spring/summer fashion, but for now we guess we’ve gotta just put a coat on and deal with the harsh winter weather!

New Year, New… Tees?

_MG_6624.jpg

It’s safe to say we’re not the best when it comes to arranging a day to take blog pictures. The weather is never on our side when we head out to get outfit photos and the day we took these was particularly freezing. Just our luck that it was like the coldest, most windy day of the year so far and we’re not even joking, our hands were so frozen we had trouble pressing the cameras shutter button. The things us bloggers do! Getting onto the point of this post…We’re 18 days into 2018 and it didn’t take our shopping obsessed selves long to go and splash some Christmas cash on a few new clothing items, it just had to be done! Today we’re talking all about these new tees (well, one is technically a jumper) that we managed to find around the shops at the beginning of the month.

Pink, it’s our new obsession… | Styling the Statement Coat

pink-coatss.jpg

So we’re still not entirely sure what the meaning of that song really is… but hey it makes for a pretty catchy blog title regardless right? Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of Aerosmith?! It is true though, surprisingly we’ve a new found love for the colour pink. A lot of the time we wear mainly monochrome outfits, so it’s nice to add a pop of colour somewhere and in this case it’s in the form of a coat.

Pink in general has been on trend lately, which has shocked us a little as we personally associate the colour with Spring and Summer as opposed to the colder seasons. We personally haven’t worn much pink for years now as we steered away from it when we went through our wanna be ‘punk’ phase (everyone had one right?) and never got back in to it as a colour. That’s until now and the main for this is because of these amazing statement coats that we’re about to show you!

September OOTD: Hello Autumn

_MG_4164.jpg

So this month had been very hectic. We’ve both had to get back into normal lives after such a long Summer break and it’s been so hard to adjust, especially since getting back from Florida. It’s left us with no time for blogging and we’ve had to abandon our blog a bit, which is sad but life just takes over right? We really enjoy writing fashion posts for our blog and we’ve tried so hard to bring monthly ‘outfit of the day’ posts to it, so of course we couldn’t miss out September’s post! It feels like all we’ve been writing about lately is our trip to Disney World, which is great because there’s so much we want to share with our readers, but it feels so good to be writing a fashion post again. Since writing our ‘Staying True to Ourselves’ OOTD in July, we’ve realised how important it is for us to be real and show ourselves exactly as we are on our blog. So in this month’s OOTD, we’re doing just that and we thought we’d show you how we’re changing up our wardrobes slightly as Autumn approaches. We know these aren’t the most ‘Autumnal’ outfits, but we’re saving our cable knits and Doc Martens for another day!
