So Eco Makeup Brushes from* | Review

Last month we were contacted by Nick from, who asked us if we’d like to try a few products from their website. As girls who would rather spend our money on food than expensive makeup (we’ve gotta be honest!), we thought we’d give it a try and see if using better quality brushes would improve the look of our makeup. We were sent these items for free to review but of course, all opinions are our own!

We browsed through their online store and came across some products from So Eco. We were allowed to choose one item each and they also kindly threw in an extra eye brush kit. So Eco stood out to us as they are a cruelty-free and eco-friendly company. Their products are packaged in bio-degradable materials and the brushes themselves have bamboo handles and the aluminium on them is all recycled!

Multi Tasking Brush – £7.50multi-tasking-brush.jpg

The Multi Tasking brush is”ideal for blending and buffing, suitable for both liquid and powder”. We don’t usually wear foundation, so for us this brush is perfect for smoothly blending liquid concealer without the need to use our hands! The brush helps to apply makeup evenly with no brush marks and the soft bristles are gentle on your face. Compared to the Real Techniques Expert Face brush, it’s noticeable that the Multi Tasking brush takes a little more effort to blend the makeup in properly, although for a few pounds cheaper it’s not an issue!

Eye Duo Brush – £6.50eye-brush

The Eye Duo brush is a double ended brush, the smaller angled brush being for “precise shading, highlighting and blending”, while the larger brush is perfect for blending and shading around the eye. We’ve never been amazing at eye makeup but now we’re putting it down to the fact that we never used decent brushes. After using the Eye Duo brush a couple of times, we’ve noticed a small improvement in how our eye makeup looks and how much better we can shade it. It’s not perfect yet but thanks to this brush it has got a lot better!

Eye Brush Kit – £12.50

We also received the Eye Brush Kit which has a collection of 5 different brushes and comes in it’s own little cotton pouch which will make it perfect for travelling! The kit includes an eyebrow comb, fine liner brush, angled eyeliner brush, eye shading brush and a mascara brush.

The eyeliner brushes are perfect for getting a precise line or wing with either gel or liquid eyeliner and the shading brush is similar to the Eye Duo brush in creating the perfect shaded eye. We use the mascara brush to tame our brows instead and this and the eyebrow brush really do the job!

If you’re looking to buy some new makeup brushes then really is the place to go. The site stocks over 600 new products from all different top brands such as Barry M and Real Techniques. You also get free 1st class delivery on UK orders and we were surprised when the items they gifted us came within a day of being sent out!

We’d just like to thank the guys at for giving us the opportunity to review the products they stock!

  1. Great reviews and really useful as I was looking into buying one of these just the other day – I’ve always been interested in the eco side of their products so will have to invest in one, or two and try them out for myself! Lovely post. – Tasha
