Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock you would know that Rita Ora has teamed up with Rimmel to create some products. The products we wanted to try out the most were the nail polishes as they are our most used make up item. The nail collection consists of 12, 60 second drying spring/summer nail polishes. Each of the colours in this collection are so beautiful and there is a mixture of pastels and brights! Here are 4 that we have picked up but we doubt our collection will stop there!
The first thing we’d like to mention is how affordable these nail polishes are! Priced at just £2.99 you really can’t go wrong. Each of the colours in the collection are so vibrant especially for SS15. As you can see from this photo they come with a wide brush which Rimmel state is a ‘precision maxi brush’. This really helps for easy application, however if you’re like me (Lauren) and have rather small nails you may find using it a tad messy. Although overall it is a lot easier to use than some thinner brushes I have used in the past. The brush allows the polish to glide on really easily and I, Rachel found that the wider brush allowed me to apply the polish really neatly! I had hardly any polish on the skin around my nails which is a result since I’m usually terrible at painting them!
L to R; Rain Rain Go Away/Bestival Blue/Go Wild Er Ness/Oragina
In this swatch of the polishes only 1 coat of each were used. It’s unbelievable how great the coverage of this product is, this is perhaps due to the fact that the polish itself has a thick formula. The only polish I (Lauren) would say needs two coats is Oragina as I found that using 2 coats made the colour stand out so much more! We haven’t currently tested out how long the polish lasts for without chipping, but I (Rachel) have tried ‘Bestival Blue’ with a glitter top coat and this lasted around a week with only one tiny chip.
The little flower detail on the packaging was also a big hit for us! It’s so simple yet pretty, everyone loves flowers especially when the weather starts getting better and the Rita Ora signature is also a nice touch! These polishes can be purchased from stores such as Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and Asda so go and have a hunt! We are 100% sure we will be adding to our small collection really soon!
Have you tried any of the Rita Ora polishes? Got any favourites? We’d love to know your thoughts, you can contact us on Twitter or Instagram. We have lots of exciting stuff planned for future posts so make sure you keep checking back!
